Simply Youth Basketball Fundamentals: Lay-Up Drill #7

This is a very simple and easy youth basketball fundamentals drill to do which will work well in helping your players get used to catching the ball and making a lay-up off of a long pass while at a run.

LAY-UP DRILL #7

Have two lines of players line up with one on the right, and one on the left side near mid-court. The players in one line will have balls. On whistle first player takes off down court toward top of key/wing area, then makes a quick cut in toward the lane taking the proper angle for a lay-up. First player with ball in other line works to make good, well-timed, lob pass to cutter.

Each player upon completion moves to the back of the opposite line.
