Simply Youth Basketball: What Are Your Goals?

We will not spend a lot of time on this topic. But at Simply Youth Basketball we do feel that it is important enough to deserve a mention.

From the onset of the season you should have a reasonable idea of your goals for the team which you have. You should have at least a good plan laid out for what you would like to do, what you would like to see get done, and what you would like to see your team accomplish. Doing this will go a long way in helping you keep the stress at a minimum as the season progresses. Having goals is a good thing. How can you expect your team to excel and improve if they do not have a goal they are working to attain?

Setting goals for your team is imperative. It gives your players something to reach for.

Is your goal to merely have a better season than the last? That’s not bad.Is it to have a winning season? Good for You!Maybe you want to win the whole thing? It would sure be nice to bring home the big trophy!

These are things that every coach wants, if they are truly a coach, and truly being honest. But these are not the only things.

What about the difference you might be able to make in a child’s life?

Or how you might be the only positive role model some of these kid’s see in their lives’?

What about the joy of seeing every one of them, in some way, come to the conclusion of the season more confident, more determined, and more skilled than when they began?

NOW THAT’S A GOAL!

Whatever happens…..Make sure you have one!
