The youth basketball Plays, Drills, Techniques, and Sets found here were put together strictly with Youth in mind.

The idea behind the Offenses you will see are not necessarily so that youth would have to learn every offensive set, or pattern. The primary purpose of using at least some form of assignment and motion with them is so that they will learn to move, with and without the basketball.

If not given a purpose and explanation for why they are there, many youth players have a tendency to simply stand around, waiting for the ball to come to them.

These Offenses are not set in stone...and other than the Hi-Low are not recommended for teams below 10 yrs old. They are merely a tool you can use with young players to teach them movement.

And with older players (5th - Middle School grades) they can be very easy to teach, profitable to your team, as well as a hardship for a Defense. Get ideas, use them, modify them, or change them to make them benefit you! Your team can accomplish more than you ever imagined. And so will you as their coach!

At the youth basketball level it does not have to be fancy or complicated to be effective. There is no need for you to have to run an Offense like a Professional Coach, such as Phil Jackson and the Triangle Offense.
